Basil Salt Recipe

Basil Salt
Add even more flavor to your salt with this quick and simple basil flavored salt recipe.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup coarse sea salt
- ¼ cup fresh purple basil
- ¼ cup fresh classic basil
- 1 lemon, zested
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place all ingredients into a food processor. Pulse until all basil leaves are finely chopped and blended with salt.
- Spread salt out evenly onto baking sheet and place in oven for 15 minutes, or until salt is completely dried. Remove from oven and use a spatula to break salt apart and crumble large pieces.
- Store in airtight container and use to top off your favorite dishes.
Notes:
• The flavor of the salt will be best in airtight container for about three months. If kept in fridge it will keep well for about six months.
• The drying time in the oven will vary depending on how wet your salt is. Make sure that your salt is completely dried before packing in airtight container.
